API 580 Certification Preparation Class
Course Length: Two full days (20 hrs), with optional evening study sessions

This class is an INTENSIVE class that is designed for the pressure equipment inspector and engineer working in refineries.
This course prepares the student for the API 580 examination. The purpose of this course and API-580 is to provide the student with the basic elements for developing and implementing risked-based inspection (RBI) program.
The course provides participants
with the knowledge necessary to:
ü
Understand the subject
matter on the API 580 exam.
ü
Understand the
methodology needed to conduct a step-by-step RBI.
ü
Understand concepts and
principles of Risked-based Inspection for risk management.
ü Understand the outcome from the application of the RB I process.
ü Students should have at least 5 years of refinery experience. As stated before, this is a very INTENSIVE course, and the more experience the student has, the easier it will be.
ü A copy of the API 580 should be brought to class.
ü Bring pencils & highlighters
Daily Schedule Tuesday & Wednesday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
If possible, you should stay at the hotel and participate in the evening sessions. Those who are most successful, generally commit the whole week to studying and learning this subject.
Class Size: We will limit enrollment to 25 students.
